| FormRouter and Adobe Team to Offer Expanded
Subscription Pricing for LiveCycle™ Reader® Extensions
Service
New subscription pricing targets
small and medium business, non-profits and departmental decision
makers
CARY, NC — June 7, 2005 — FormRouter, Inc. announced
today new subscription pricing for its LiveCycle Reader Extensions
Service for organizations seeking to deploy PDF forms with
advanced usage rights such as digital signatures and ability
to fill and save offline.
FormRouter became the first PDF Application Service Provider
(ASP), to be licensed by Adobe, to activate PDF usage rights
via Adobe Reader software as a for-fee service in October
2004. “Market reaction to our LiveCycle Reader Extensions
service has been strong, however the one-price-fits-all approach
has kept many small and medium sized organizations from realizing
the power of rights enabled PDF forms,” said Chris M.
Pieper, CEO and Chairman for FormRouter. “With our new
subscription pricing options, LiveCycle Reader
Extensions unlocks now start at under $500. “
Part of the Adobe Intelligent Document Platform, LiveCycle
Reader Extensions allows organizations to enable advanced
forms-processing features within the free and ubiquitous Adobe
Reader software at no extra cost to end users. When a rights-enabled
PDF document is opened in Adobe Reader, users can access advanced
features such as 2D barcodes, digital signatures, and offline
save. Once the document is submitted or closed, these special
rights are disabled until the user receives another rights-enabled
PDF file.
The FormRouter subscription service allows individuals with
no technical experience to convert existing PDF documents
into secure, Internet hosted forms in minutes, with no programming
and no hardware installation. As PDF forms are submitted,
encrypted results are routed directly to the form owner's
desktop saving time and eliminating errors caused by manual
rekeying. Documents that require extended-rights can be enabled
by FormRouter and deployed using the FormRouter service and/or
Adobe’s LiveCycle server solutions.
“The new pricing options should be particularly attractive
to smaller organizations that want to extend the benefits
of LiveCycle Reader Extensions to their customers, partners
and suppliers,” said Eugene Lee, vice president of product
marketing, Intelligent Document Business Unit at Adobe. “By
deploying solutions based on the Adobe Intelligent Document
Platform, enterprise organizations have been able to experience
increased return on IT investments through extending document-based
processes outside the organization. FormRouter’s ASP
service and their new subscription based pricing should create
opportunities for non-profits and small to medium sized businesses
to experience these same
benefits by deploying intelligent PDF documents and forms.”
