| FormRouter and Code Corporation announce
new options for 2D barcodes and electronic forms.
Integrated technology eliminates
manual re-keying of submitted paper forms.
CARY, NC and SALT LAKE CITY, UT (April 12, 2005) – FormRouter,
a pioneer in hosted services for intelligent PDF forms, and
Code Corporation, the leading manufacturer of image-based
data collection hardware and open platform software, announced
the integration of their products to offer a new low-cost
data routing option for on-line forms utilizing 2D barcodes.
When paper forms are collected, data on them must frequently
be re-keyed into computers, a process that is both expensive
and prone to error. To reduce cost and save time, many organizations
are now looking to integrate 2D barcodes into their online
forms. A 2D barcode captures data typed into a form and converts
that data to a barcode image block. 2D Barcode image blocks
can be read by hand held scanners like the CR2 and integrated
into databases and other applications for further processing.
FormRouter CTO and Founder Jim Healy commented, "Integration
of Code Corporation’s technology supports our commitment
to drive down the barriers to intelligent forms. Our FormRouter
service has made it very cost-effective for organizations
of all sizes to collect data via on-line forms over the Internet.
By
integrating the CR2 scanner, our customers can easily and
accurately scan data from printed online forms that are mailed,
faxed or handed in. And, like digitally routed forms, the
barcode scanned data is written directly into popular databases
with no servers and no programming."
“FormRouter is a real innovator and their recent deal
with Adobe Systems to process Reader Extension unlocks has
made them a force in the PDF forms community” said George
Powell, Code Corporation President and CEO. “We are
excited about this partnership and the opportunity for our
CR2 scanner to be
an integral part of FormRouter’s solution.”
